INVITATION TO BID The City of Venice invites sealed bids from qualified bidders to provide the following goods or services, which is described in detail in the Specifications. Bid No.: 3186-25 Bid Title: Hurricane Milton Waterway Debris Removal PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Hatchett Creek, Curry Creek, and Blackburn Canal serve as important drainageways within the City of Venice. Portions of each waterway are maintained by the City of Venice. The removal of obstructions within these waterways is necessary to allow for the proper conveyance of stormwater. In October 2024, Hurricane Milton damaged many trees along the aforementioned waterways. Labor and materials shall be provided to cut, remove, and haul to an approved disposal site all trees and snags in the water or at risk of falling in the water within the project area. Cut trees shall be flush cut to stump. Approximately 5,300 LF of waterway is within the project area, as shown in the plans and specs document (Attachment A). Per grant requirements, a monitor will supervise all work and collect appropriate documentation from the selected contractor.
