NOTICE OF FUNDING AVAILABILTY AND REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS Community Development Block Grant Program ONLY Fiscal Year 2026 July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027 Spartanburg County announces the availability of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), funds to undertake projects in the areas of Housing, Community Infrastructure, and Health and Human Services. Spartanburg County receives CDBG funds annually from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to fund activities that primarily benefit low- and moderate-income (LMI) residents of Spartanburg County. These funds are based on a formula for entitled cities and counties. Requests involving federal funds must serve low- and moderate-income areas or persons in unincorporated areas of Spartanburg CountyAll funding request applications for CDBG funding must be submitted to and received by the Community Development Department by 5:00 PM, Friday, December 5, 2025. Applications, instructions, and other important information can be found at the Spartanburg County Community Development website at https://www.spartanburgcounty.org/1285/Community-Development-Block-Grant We strongly recommend all applicants visit the website as soon as possible to allow time to sufficiently complete the application and request any technical assistance. A Public Hearing on recommendations for Funding Allocations for CDBG will be held in February, 2026. Awards are expected to be made by August 31, 2026 after approval from Spartanburg County Council and the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
