April 10, 1935 – February 12, 2025
One year ago, we lost the pillar of our family. Not a day passes without feeling his absence.
Don was the beloved husband of Sarah, devoted father to Shoshi, Rachel, Avi, and Golleet (Craig), and cherished Sabba to Eitan, Shakked, Tamir, Jordan, Zachary, Sarah, Caden, and Sammy. His love extended across generations and across oceans - to family in Israel and throughout the United States - and he carried each of us in his heart every day.
Born to James and Bessie Persellin, and brother to Edward, Robert, and Brenna, Don lived a life grounded in humility, integrity, and deep devotion to family. Tradition was everything to him. Shabbat dinners, holidays, and gathering the entire family together were his greatest joys. He believed it was his sacred responsibility to carry forward the stories and rituals of those who came before him - and to teach us to do the same.
Don was kind, wise, steady, and quietly strong. He never sought attention, but he touched countless lives through his decency, humor, and unwavering love. The past year has only deepened our understanding of how much he held us together.
Sabba, things simply are not the same without you. We miss you beyond words and carry you with us always.
