A public hearing on Application No. 26-03PB will be held by the City of Bridgeton Planning Board on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at 6:30 p.m., at the Municipal Court Complex located at 330 Fayette Street, Bridgeton, NJ 08302.
The purpose of this public hearing is to consider a site plan waiver /minor site plan to allow the existing building and surrounding improvements to be used as a Detoxification and Residential Treatment Facility. The proposed use of the property will establish and operate a private, comprehensive substance abuse treatment facility providing both medically supervised detoxification and residential treatment services. The center will serve individuals struggling with substance use disorders in Bridgeton, New Jersey and the surrounding communities. The facility will have a combined total capacity of 65 beds, allocated between detoxification services and residential treatment programs. The detoxification component will provide short-term, medically monitored care for individuals undergoing withdrawal from drugs and/or alcohol. Admissions to the facility will take place between the hours of 7:00 AM and 8:00 PM, while the facility will operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and will accept emergency admissions outside of standard intake hours to ensure individuals in crisis have access to immediate care. This is a private, voluntary admission facility employing qualified healthcare professionals, including nurse practitioners, registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), medical doctors, licensed psychiatrists, licensed social workers, and credentialed substance abuse counselors. For safety and operational control, patients are not permitted to drive onto the property or transport themselves to the facility. All admissions will be coordinated through designated pickup arrangements from a pre-approved, safe location. To maintain a secure and focused treatment environment, there will be no visitors permitted on the premises. The residential treatment program will provide structured, longer-term care in a secure and therapeutic environment. Services will include individual counseling, group therapy, behavioral health services, psychiatric care, relapse prevention planning, life skills development, and case management, together with any other variances or waivers that may later be determined to be required by the Board or the Board's professionals upon their review or that may otherwise be required for the approval as sought.
The property for which this approval is being sought is located at 105 Manheim Road and is designated Lot 1 of Block 106 on the Tax Map of the City of Bridgeton..
