Legal Notice City of Yreka, California Pursuant to Government Code Section 36933(c), the following constitutes a summary of an ordinance introduced November 18, 2025, and adopted December 2, 2025, by the City of Yreka City Council at its regular meeting in Yreka, California. Councilmembers Davis, McCoy, Middleton, Clair and Baker voted in favor of adopting the ordinance. This ordinance shall be in full force and effective on the 31st day following its adoption and after publication and posting as required by law. ORDINANCE NO. 886 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YREKA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTION 2.20.020 "MEMBERSHIP—APPOINTMENT—TERMS—VACANCY" AND FINDING ACTION EXEMPT FROM THE CALIFORNIA ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT (CEQA) (GUIDELINES §15378) The proposed ordinance amends Chapter 2.20 "Planning Commission" of the Yreka Municipal Code to establish a policy whereby the City Council may temporarily assume the duties and responsibilities of the Planning Commission when the Commission is unable to achieve a quorum due to vacancies, recusals, absences, or other factors beyond the City's immediate control. This amendment ensures continuity of government operations and prevents delays to important planning and development matters that affect the health, safety, and welfare of the community. Actions taken by the City Council while serving in this capacity shall be final and not subject to appeal rights to the City Council.
