NOTICE OF FILING OF APPLICATION FOR CAMA MAJOR DEVELOPMENT PERMIT The Department of Environmental Quality hereby gives public notice as required by NCGS 113A-119(b) that the following applications were submitted for a development permit in Areas of Environmental Concern as designated under the CAMA: On December 19, 2025, Kent Kring proposed to construct a private docking facility with a jet ski lift for a total of three (3) slips in addition to a proposed gazebo & floating kayak launch at parcel number 233MC00811, adj. to Montgomery Slough, Oak Island, Brunswick County; On December 19, 2025, Stephanie Lopez proposed to construct 480' access pier, gazebo with one (1) boat slip at 829 Shoreline Dr W., adj. to the AIWW in Sunset Beach, Brunswick County; And on December 19, 2025, Benjamin Brown, Richard & Wendy Cheek proposed a new vinyl sheet pile bulkhead to span 280' across both properties at 6205 & 6219 Myrtle Grove, adjacent to Masonboro Sound, in Wilmington, New Hanover County. Comments mailed to Tancred Miller, Director, Division of Coastal Management, 400 Commerce Avenue, Morehead City, NC 28557-3421, prior to January 14, 2026 will be considered in making the permit decision. Later comments will be accepted and considered up to the time of permit decision. Project modification may occur based on review and comment by the public and state and federal agencies.
