ORDINANCE NO. 2025 – 11 CITY OF OCONTO OCONTO COUNTY, WISCONSIN AN ORDINANCE REGARDING REVISIONS TO THE GOVERNMENT AND ADMINISTRATION ORDINANCE IN THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF ORDINANCES FOR THE CITY OF OCONTO NOW THEREFORE, THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCONTO, OCONTO COUNTY, WISCONSIN, DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: I. REVISION. Section 2-4-16.1 (a) of the City of Oconto Code of Ordinances shall be revised as follows: Sec. 2-4-14. - General Provisions Regarding Meetings and Public Notice (e) Composition. There shall be a Board of Public Works Committee. The membership of the Board of Public Works consist of two (2) members of the Common Council, exclusive of the mayor, and three (3) citizen members. The Alderperson's term of office shall be one (1) year and shall begin in April of each year. The Alderperson members shall be appointed by the Mayor, and approved by a majority of the Common Council, and shall be appointed annually in April. The citizen's terms of office shall be three (3) years and staggered, beginning in May of each year. The citizen members shall be appointed by the Mayor, and approved by a majority of the Common Council. The Board of Public Works shall annually elect (at it organizational meeting) from its members, a Chairperson of the Committee, who shall preside over the meetings of said Committee. II. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Ordinance shall be adopted under suspension of local rules, and shall take effect upon passage and publication as provided by law.
