MONTICELLO CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT
I, Virginia Palmer, School Tax Collector, have received the tax roll and warrant for the Monticello Central School District. The tax warrant is for the period of September 2, 2024, to November 15, 2024. Make checks payable to: Monticello Central School District and mail your payment to Post Office Box 4250, Buffalo, NY 14240-4250. Credit card and electronic check payments can be made online at www.infotaxonline.com. Taxes may also be paid in person at Monticello Central School District Tax Office located at 60 Jefferson St. Suite 3, Monticello, NY 12701. The collection hours are Monday through Friday 9:00 am– 12:30pm and 1:00pm - 3:00pm, except school holidays, which are September 2, October 3, October 14 and November 11, 2024. Payments will be collected at the school tax office until November 15, 2024. The Tax Office is handicapped accessible.
Taxes can be paid in full as follows:
September 2, 2025, through October 1, 2025
October 2, 2025, through October 31, 2025, with 1% interest
November 1, 2025, through November 14, 2025, with 2% interest
The Monticello Central School District will continue to offer the installment payment option. When paying the taxes in full, mail your entire bill with payment by October 1, 2025. A receipt will be mailed to you. When paying by installment mail the receiver’s stub marked Payment #1 and the amount indicated by October 1, 2025. The next payment with stub marked Payment #2 will give you the choice of second installment or second and third installment. This must be paid by October 31, 2025. These amounts include 1% interest. The final Payment #3 is due by November 15, 2025. You will have the option of paying the third installment or the second and third installment. These amounts include 2% interest.
Postmark is considered date of payment. However, mailed payments must be postmarked by November 14, 2025. Payments received after November 20, 2025, regardless of postmark, will be returned.

After November 14, 2025, unpaid taxes will re-levied, at 7% compounded interest, on your January 2026 Property Tax Bill.
You may be eligible for senior citizen tax exemption. Senior citizens have until March 1 of each year to apply for such exemptions. For further information, please contact your assessor.
New York State homeowners can reduce their school taxes through the statewide school tax relief program, STAR. Basic Star is available to anyone who owns and lives in his or her own home and does not exceed the $500,000 income level or Enhanced STAR is available to senior homeowners whose incomes do not exceed the statewide standard. Property owners may visit the NYS Dept. of Taxation and Finance’s website or call 518-457-2036 to register or learn more information.
The tax collector cannot accept any tax payment after the expiration date of the tax warrant on November 14, 2025. Online payments will be accepted until November 14, 2025. All payments received by mail must be postmarked on or before November 14, 2025, and received by November 20, 2025
Any incorrect payments will be returned to the property owner and can cause additional penalties.
