The regular meeting of the Lafourche Parish Fire Protection District Number Three Board of Commissioners was held on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. The meeting took place at the Lafourche Parish Fire District 3 Training Building in Cut Off. Chairman Reggie Pitre called the meeting to order at 6:31 PM. PLEDGE TO THE AMERICAN FLAG: Chairman Pitre led the pledge to our flag. ROLL CALL OF COMMISSIONERS: Chairman Reggie Pitre – Present; Vice-Chairman Dean Savoie – Present; Commissioner Morris Guidry – Present; Commissioner Aaron Montez – Present; Commissioner Troy Dufrene – Present. APPROVAL OF BOARD MEETING MINUTES: Commissioner Dufrene moved to accept the minutes of the February 25, 2025, Regular Board Meeting, as written, seconded by Commissioner Savoie. No public comments. Vote held: Commissioner Savoie – Yea; Commissioner Guidry – Yea; Commissioner Dufrene - Yea; Commissioner Montez – Yea. OLD BUSINESS: Hebert gave updated on Leeville Station: punch list complete. CSRS went today and everything looks great. Hebert gave update on Belle Amie Station and presented Pay App No.8 for the Belle Amie Station. Commissioner Dufrene motion to approve Pay App No.8 in the amount of $43,155.85, seconded by Commissioner Montez. Public comments: None. Hebert read bid amounts aloud. Discussion held. Commissioner Dufrene motion to accept Foret Contracting Group's bid with Alternate 1 included, seconded by Commissioner Savoie. Public comments: None. Hebert then advised he's put together the WCO and SGM temporary building drawings. Discussion was held on the plans. Ben Rath w/ CSRS advised he's working to set up a meeting with FEMA leadership, then gave updates on stations: South Golden Meadow: productive meeting with Chase Marshall Architects. CMA is putting plans together to go out for bid. West Cut Off: was able to answer questions about project by working with CMA during physical site inspection. West Larose, East Galliano, Port Fourchon, and East Larose's projects have all been submitted to FEMA. FIRE CHIEF'S REPORT: Chief Dedon advised that the firefighters moved back in the PF Station last week. 1 firefighter passed agility test today, looking to hire him soon. LPSO cleared out fencing area and E&L cleared out fence line. GLPC agreed to 2 more quarters of payments. Talked about current trainings, will be sending assistance to GIFD during their fair weekend, assisted LAD with CAD mapping issues, several public relations coming up. Stated he reviewed the CSRS contract earlier today and agreed to extend contract. As long CSRS can push FEMA, we'll keep them. COMMUNICATION'S REPORT: Interim Supervisor Mary St.Pierre reported 257 EMS calls and 88 Fire calls so far this month. Working with Expert Technology on some computer issues. 1 dispatcher resigned; 1 trainee hired to replace her. Congratulated Chelsie Orgeron on 16 years of service. MECHANIC'S REPORT: Master Mechanic Ryan Pitre reported 4 vehicles brought in for scheduled maintenance. He received 20 CAD work orders and 15 maintenance reports. Advised bed cover sold on Public Surplus, no bids on bed drawer. Chairman Pitre gave MM Pitre authority to make that decision. Advised Engine 90 is in the shop for a complete overhaul, working as much as he can to get it done. Discussion held. CHAIRMAN'S REPORT: Chairman Pitre stated he attended a leadership class last night. It's nice to see career and volunteers training together.
