The regular meeting of the Lafourche Parish Fire Protection District Number Three Board of Commissioners was held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. The meeting took place at the Lafourche Parish Fire District 3 Training Building in Cut Off. Chairman Reggie Pitre called the meeting to order at 6:32 PM. PLEDGE TO THE AMERICAN FLAG: Chairman Pitre led the pledge to our flag. ROLL CALL OF COMMISSIONERS: Chairman Reggie Pitre–Present; Vice-Chairman Dean Savoie–Present; Commissioner Morris Guidry–Absent; Commissioner Aaron Montez–Present; Commissioner Troy Dufrene–Present. APPROVAL OF BOARD MEETING MINUTES: Commissioner Dufrene moved to accept the minutes of the April 22, 2025, Regular Board Meeting, as written, seconded by Commissioner Montez. No public comments. Vote held: Commissioner Savoie–Yea; Commissioner Guidry–Absent; Commissioner Dufrene-Yea; Commissioner Montez–Yea. OLD BUSINESS: Hebert presented Pay App No. 10 in the amount of $32,250.47, for the Leeville Station Retainage. Commissioner Savoie motion to approve Pay App No.10 in the amount of $32,250.47, seconded by Commissioner Dufrene. Public comments: None. Vote held: Commissioner Savoie–Yea; Commissioner Guidry–Absent; Commissioner Dufrene-Yea; Commissioner Montez–Yea. Hebert advised Notice to Proceed for Training Tower was issued on April 28, 2025. Hebert gave substantial completion meeting schedule for tomorrow at 2PM for Belle Amie Station. Reviewed weather days, determined no additional days will be issued. Hebert advised drawings for West Cut Off and South Golden Meadow temp facilities are complete, hoping to go out for bid on Friday. Chief Dedon advised he was offered another property from a community member, board members agreed to pass on that offer. Ben Rath with CSRS advised FEMA has agreed the pilings will not be added for Fire Central's repair/replace consideration. Once FEMA validates costs, we can move forward as replacement. Physical site inspection done on West Cut Off, station moving along. FEMA advised we can move forward with designs on South Golden Meadow. NEW BUSINESS: 2025-2025 Budget Hearing: Chairman Pitre advised annual budget hearing needs to be scheduled. Commissioner Dufrene motion to hold the budget hearing at 6PM on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, seconded by Commissioner Savoie. Public comments: None. FIRE CHIEF'S REPORT: Chief Dedon advised gas line at SGM's temp location has been moved. Switched dental/vision insurance back to MetLife, due to local doctors not accepting BCBS. Advised board chairs and dispatch chairs are ordered. Received insurance money for West Galliano, will be installing divider walls for more functionally. Visited the state capitol for better health and safety firefighters and police. Advised he met with Motorola last week. Vaughn Bourgeois with Motorola addressed the board to discuss a new CAD system. Chief Dedon then advised VFIS insurance canceled our wind and hail policy. Seeking other options. Bill Porche addressed the board in reference to LWCC rates. Chief Dedon invited everyone to the 75th Anniversary Celebration for the Town of Golden Meadow on August 2, 2025. COMMUNICATION'S REPORT: Supervisor Mary Rotolo reported 201 EMS calls and 55 Fire calls so far this month. Trainee 1 will be on shift soon; Trainee 2 was let go. Spoke about CAD issues and server in equipment room. Three current dispatchers tested for Supervisor, Civil Service Meeting tomorrow night for results. MECHANIC'S REPORT: Master Mechanic Ryan Pitre reported he received 18 CAD work orders and 18 maintenance reports. Engine 92 at shop in New Orleans. Waiting on Engine 94's turbo. Working on Engine 90, almost done. HQ-16 has front A/C issues, at Scott Badeaux. CHAIRMAN'S REPORT: Chairman Pitre advised heat and traffic increasing, stay ready and hydrated. COMMISSIONERS' REPORTS: Commissioner Guidry: Absent. Commissioner Savoie: None. Commissioner Dufrene: Keep up the good work. Commissioner Montez: None. PUBLIC COMMENTS: There were no public comments.
