The regular meeting of the Lafourche Parish Fire Protection District Number Three Board of Commissioners was held on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. The meeting took place at the Lafourche Parish Fire District 3 Training Building in Cut Off. Chairman Reggie Pitre called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM. PLEDGE TO THE AMERICAN FLAG: Chairman Pitre led the pledge to our flag. ROLL CALL OF COMMISSIONERS: Chairman Reggie Pitre–Present; Vice-Chairman DeanSavoie–Present; Commissioner Morris Guidry–Present; Commissioner Aaron Montez–Present; Commissioner Troy Dufrene–Present. APPROVAL OF BOARD MEETING MINUTES: Commissioner Dufrene moved to accept the minutes of the May 20, 2025, Regular Board Meeting, as written, seconded by Commissioner Montez. No public comments. Vote held: Commissioner Savoie–Yea; Commissioner Guidry-Yea; Commissioner Dufrene-Yea; Commissioner Montez–Yea. OLD BUSINESS: Hebert advised Belle Amie has a few punch list items left. Partial Completion paperwork done, but can now give Substantial Completion. Commissioner Dufrene moved to give permission to Chief Dedon to sign off on Substantial Completion, seconded by Commissioner Savoie. No public comments. Vote held: Commissioner Savoie–Yea; Commissioner Guidry–Yea; Commissioner Dufrene-Yea; Commissioner Montez–Yea. Hebert presented Change Order No. 4 in the amount of $2,627.39, for Belle Amie. Commissioner Savoie motion to approve Change Order No. 4, seconded by Commissioner Dufrene. Public comments: None. Vote held: Commissioner Savoie–Yea; Commissioner Guidry–Yea; Commissioner Dufrene-Yea; Commissioner Montez–Yea. Hebert then presented Pay App No. 11 in the amount of $16,357.77, for Belle Amie. Commissioner Dufrene motion to approve Pay App No. 11, seconded by Commissioner Savoie. Public comments: None. Vote held: Commissioner Savoie–Yea; Commissioner Guidry–Yea; Commissioner Dufrene-Yea; Commissioner Montez–Yea. Hebert gave update on Training Tower; Building set to be delivered at end of July. Presented Change Order No. 1 to replace 300ft of additional fencing and a credit for flood insurance and omitted gate replacement in the amount of $5,121.00. Commissioner Savoie motion to approve Change Order No. 1, seconded by Commissioner Dufrene. Public comments: None. Currently working with Chase Marshall Architects on contract for Fire Central, next will be demolition meeting. Final least-cost objective was sent to GOHSEP-received their full support. Bid documents going out in 1-1/2 months. Gave quick update on Generator Grant. Chief Dedon advised he sent pictures to GIS due to mold coming back in the Port Fourchon Fire Station. Will have to work with CSRS, GIS, and Picciola to formulate a plan. NEW BUSINESS: 2024-2025 Amended Budget was reviewed. Savoie motion to accept amendments, seconded by Commissioner Dufrene. FIRE CHIEF'S REPORT: Chief Dedon advised Belle Amie Grand Opening date will be released soon. Live Burn Training w/ Bourg FD, Montegut FD, and Houma FD went well. Working w/ CSRS and our attorney for best route to purchase new CAD system. Wind, hail, and flood insurance will be canceled on July 1st. Working with Theriot, Duet, & Theriot to secure coverage. 5 members attended Lead Evaluator training at St. Tammany FD. COMMUNICATION'S REPORT: Supervisor Mary Rotolo reported 245 EMS calls and 97 Fire calls so far this month. G.Guidry completed Dispatch Training. Rotolo discussed CAD support issues. Server fan going out. Expert Technology is waiting on new part. Higher Ground Recording Software needs to be updated. Received quote of initial cost of $16,169.67, and annual maintenance contract of $3,732.79, totaling $19,902.46. Chief Dedon advised equipment got wet and will be covered by insurance money. Commissioner Dufrene motioned to move forward with purchase, seconded by Commissioner Savoie. Vote held: Commissioner Savoie–Yea; Commissioner Guidry–Yea; Commissioner Dufrene-Yea; Commissioner Montez–Yea. Rotolo thanked Board for the last 40 years. Leaving behind an outstanding group of dispatchers and M.St.Pierre will do an excellent job. Mary Rotolo received a standing ovation for her 40 years of employment! MECHANIC'S REPORT: Master Mechanic Ryan Pitre reported he received 17 CAD work orders and 25 maintenance reports. Currently wrapping up work on E90. 1 vehicle brought in for schedule maintenance. Board thanked him. CHAIRMAN'S REPORT: Chairman Pitre presented Mary Rotolo a certificate and gift for her 40-1/2 years of dedication. COMMISSIONERS' REPORTS: Commissioner Guidry: None. Commissioner Savoie: Thanked Mary for her years of service. Commissioner Dufrene: Thanked Mary for her years of service. Commissioner Montez: Not many can say they've achieved 40 years of dedication, Congrats! PUBLIC COMMENTS: M.St.Pierre thanked Mary Rotolo for her service and dedication. Chief Montez stated he's been here for many years. We've learned a lot. Told Mary she's earned her retirement. Congrats from all of the guys on the outside! Martin Wade thanked Mary for her service. Spoke about HAM radios and offered his assistance. No further comments. Commissioner Montez moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:14 PM, seconded by Commissioner Dufrene.
