The Budget Hearing of the Lafourche Parish Fire Protection District Number Three Board of Commissioners was held on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. The hearing took place at the Lafourche Parish Fire District 3 Training Building at 17462 W Main St, Bldg B, Cut Off, La 70345. Chairman Reggie Pitre called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM. PLEDGE TO THE AMERICAN FLAG: Commissioner Reggie Pitre led the pledge to our flag. ROLL CALL OF COMMISSIONERS: Chairman Reggie Pitre–Present Commissioner Morris Guidry–Present Commissioner Troy Dufrene–Present Commissioner Aaron Montez–Present Vice-Chairman Dean Savoie–Present Chairman Pitre advised this hearing is to discuss the proposed budget for the 2025-2026 fiscal year. Board members reviewed the proposed budget. Commissioner Savoie asked about the overage in Accounting. Budget & Accounting Administrator Michaela Guidry explained that we paid the new firm and Aldon Wahl because he helped us with the transition. Commissioner Dufrene asked if the budget went up 2 million dollars. Chief Dedon stated yes, we were trying to collect 3 million dollars but didn't get what was anticipated. Chairman Pitre explained the amendment process. Commissioner Dufrene stated we did an awesome job keeping stuff in check. Advised we went over in Replenishments but saved a lot of money by feeding the trustees to paint stations and hydrants. Accountant Guidry also stated that the insurance and benefits costs both increased. Commissioner Dufrene asked if we are at full staff. Chief Devin stated we only have 1 mechanic-need 2, down 1 dispatcher, and 1 is out on sick leave in Suppression but will be full-staff when he gets back PUBLIC COMMENTS: None. Commissioner Savoie moved to adjourn the hearing at 6:07 PM, seconded by Commissioner Dufrene.
