NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
ON CREATION OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENT DISTRICT FOR
North Shores Snow Removal
September 15, 2025
7:00 P.M.
TO: THE RESIDENTS & PROPERTY OWNERS OF LOTS IN North Shores Estates Subdivision, abutting along S. Otter Creek Rd and Avenues A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, North Shore Blvd, Western Dr, LaSalle Court and Lakeshore Dr., LASALLE TOWNSHIP, MONROE COUNTY, MICHIGAN & ANY OTHER INTERESTED PERSONS:
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that as a result of Petitions of property owners within the township, signed by the record owners of land, whose front footage)constitutes more than 50 percent of the total front footage of the proposed North Shores Snow Removal Special Assessment District and the Township of LaSalle proposes to create a new special assessment district to provide road maintenance, improvements and snow removal for the proposed District.
PLEASE TAKE FUTHER NOTICE that the District within which the foregoing improvements are proposed and within the costs thereof is proposed to be assessed is more particularly described as follows All lots in North Shores Estates Subdivision, abutting along S. Otter Creek Rd and Avenues A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, North Shore Blvd, Western Dr, LaSalle Court and Lakeshore Dr.
A map of the parcels is on file at the Township.
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that the Township Board has reviewed the plans for the snow removal along with an estimate of the costs in the approximate amount of $37,750.00 to be assessed at, $50.00 per parcel x 151 parcels = $37,750.00 (for 5 years).
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that said petitions and description of proposed improvements may be examined at the office of the Township Clerk from the date of this Notice until and including the public hearing and may further be examined at such public hearing.
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE: that a public hearing on the plans, district and estimates of costs will be held at the township hall, at 4109 LaPlaisance Road, LaSalle, Michigan, commencing at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 15, 2025.
An owner or party in interest, or his or her agent, may appear in person at the hearing to protest the special assessment, or may file his or her appearance or protest by letter at or before the hearing, and in that event, personal appearance shall not be required. The owner or any other person having an interest in the real property who protests in person or in writing at the hearing may file a written appeal as to the creation of the special assessment district with the State Tax Tribunal within 30 days after the adoption of the resolution to create the special assessment district.
