NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SARASOTA COUNTY, FLORIDA STREET VACATION PETITION SV25-05 – BURR LANE ENGLEWOOD The Sarasota County Commission, at its regularly scheduled meeting on September 24, 2025, at the Sarasota County Administration Center, Commission Chamber, 1660 Ringling Blvd., Sarasota, Florida, at 9:00 a.m. or as soon thereafter as possible, will receive all testimony and evidence to consider a petition from William W. Merrill, III, Esq., Icard, Merrill, Cullis, Timm, Furen & Ginsburg, P., on behalf of Buchans Bayside, Inc. (Petitioner) to vacate, abandon, discontinue and close the County’s interest in a public right-of-way, consisting of 6018 square-feet, known as Burr Lane, adjoining Cherokee Street, Englewood, and as shown on the Amended Plat of Englewood Park, recorded in Plat Book A, Page 28 of the Public Records of Sarasota County, Florida. Legal Description of portion of public right-of-way to be vacated: SEE ATTACHED “EXHIBIT A”. The petition and/or other information are available for public inspection at the Sarasota County Property Management Office, located at 1000 Sarasota Center Boulevard, Sarasota during normal business hours. All interested parties are invited to appear and be heard. Written comments filed with the Clerk of the Board will be heard and considered. This notice is published pursuant to the requirements of Sections 177.101, 336.09 and 336.10, Florida Statutes. Pursuant to County Resolution No. 2019-024, citizen comments are limited to 5 minutes per speaker. The Chair may modify time limits to ensure due process to all participants.
