PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE YARMOUTH PLANNING BOARD The Yarmouth Planning Board will hold a Public Hearing on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at 5:30 P.M. in the Hearing Room of the Yarmouth Town Offices, 1146 Route 28, South Yarmouth, MA 02664, and via remote access at https://us02web.zoom.us/J/89836415124 or via telephone at (301) 715 8592 and entering webinar ID 898 3641 5124, to consider the following proposals to amend the Yarmouth Zoning Bylaw: 1. Amend Zoning Bylaw Section 202.5 – Use Table and Footnotes, to allow a fisherman to sell their legally caught live lobsters at their home in residential zoning districts, except for RS-40, via a Special Permit with special provisions such as adherence to all other applicable local, state and federal regulations; only one Special Permit per parcel which expires upon the sale of the property; limiting signage to one non-illuminated A-Frame sandwich board; and setting of hours of operation via the Special Permit. Also, Amend Section 500 – Definitions, to add a definition for fishing. 2. Amend Section 401.1 – Camping and Recreational Equipment, to allow boat owners in residential zoning districts, who are unable to locate their boat behind the front face of the building line due to unique conditions or features of the parcel, an option for Special Permit relief for one (1) trailered boat per parcel located in the driveway, with specific conditions such as a maximum length of the boat; ensuring adequacy of the remaining on-site parking; traffic and fire safety; and limiting the time to between April 1st and November 1st.
