NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS
The City of Staunton Planning Commission will hold the following Public Hearings at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2025. The hearings will be held in Rita S. Wilson Council Chambers located on the first floor of City Hall, 116 W Beverley Street.
• Public Hearing and Consideration of a Request by Paul J. Wright Jr. to Rezone 1004 Seth Drive, Parcel Identification Number 11635, from B-1C, Local Business District Conditional, to R-3C, Medium Density Residential District Conditional. The Proffers Offered by the Applicant for the Conditional Zoning are the Same Proffers Previously Approved by Staunton City Council for the Planned Unit Development Known as Middlebrook Park. The City of Staunton, Virginia, Comprehensive Plan 2018-2040, Future Land Use Map, Designates This Area as Medium Density Residential with a Suggested Density Between 4 and 20 Units Per Acre
• Public Hearing & Consideration of a Request by Jonathan Wright to amend Chapter 18.125, Minimum Off-Street Parking Requirements, of Title 18, Zoning, of the Staunton City Code. The Proposed Amendment is to Expand Core Business District Area Where Off-Street Parking is Not Required. The Proposed Expansion of Boundaries Includes All Properties Fronting on the West Side of Lewis Street in the Blocks Between Middlebrook Avenue and Baldwin Street. Currently, the Boundary is the Centerline of Lewis Street.
The Planning Commission will conduct site visits at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 16, 2025. Commission members and staff will meet at the Parks and Recreation Offices at Montgomery Hall Park.
