NOTICE OF PROPOSAL TO CONVEY REAL ESTATE NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Des Moines, Iowa, has adopted a resolution setting a hearing relating to a proposal to convey real properties locally known as 930 Thornton Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa, legally described as LOT 17, WATROUS PARK, AN OFFICIAL PLAT, ALL NOW INCLUDED IN AND FORMING A PART OF THE CITY OF DES MOINES, POLK COUNTY, IOWA, AND CONTAINING APPROXIMATELY 6,912 SQUARE FEET. to Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity in exchange for $75,000.00 for 930 Thornton Avenue and in-kind consideration in the form of development of the property by rehabilitation and/or redevelopment for housing purposes in accordance with the terms and conditions of the acquisition agreement, Offer to Purchase, and the proposal submitted by Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity. NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the City Council will consider the proposed sales and conveyance after a public hearing to be held at 5:00 p.m., in the City Hall, Council Chambers, 400 Robert D. Ray Drive, 2nd Floor, Des Moines, IA 50309 on September 29, 2025. All persons wishing to comment on the project may state their views at this hearing or submit written comments.
