PUBLIC NOTICE
Notice is hereby given to all interested parties, the City of Petersburg Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) will hold a public hearing on Thursday, September 25, 2025, beginning at 2 PM, in the Petersburg Public Library, Multi-Purpose Room, located at 201 W. Washington Street, Petersburg, Virginia 23803 to hear the following cases:
25-VAR-01: A petition from Donna Olienyk for a variance of the lot area requirements at 123 Bollingbrook Street, Petersburg, Virginia. The applicant is requesting a variance of the lot area requirements to the property for a mixed-use development including multi-family dwelling. The applicant is intending to add to the interior of the already standing structure.
2025-VAR-02: A request from Kishan Patel of Woodspring Suites for a variance of Article 21 Section 9 9.4. The applicant is seeking to increase the amount of allowed signage at 3657 S Crater Rd. The maximum amount of signage allowed in the B2- General Commercial zoning district is 150 square feet. The applicant would like to install an additional 240 square feet of signage for the hotel at the property.

The Department is open Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM.
All interested persons shall have the opportunity to be heard at said public hearing. The public is encouraged to submit comments through electronic means. Citizens are encouraged to submit comments by 10 AM September 19, 2025.
