MCDPH seeks to contract an experienced evaluation team to conduct a comprehensive assessment of how Maricopa County school districts are addressing youth e-cigarette and vaping use. This evaluation will ensure Maricopa County’s investments are data-informed, equitable, and aligned with broader public health objectives.
The evaluation will focus on four key areas:
1.1 School Administration - How administrators and school staff perceive and respond to vaping-related challenges.
1.2 Policies - The existence, implementation, and enforcement of school and district-level policies related to e-cigarette use.
1.3 Curricula - The reach and effectiveness of educational programs addressing e-cigarette and substance use prevention.
1.4 Community-Based Services - The availability and role of external organizations providing prevention, cessation, and diversion services in school settings.
The selected Contractor will conduct a comprehensive evaluation of needs, gaps, and opportunities related to e-cigarette and vaping prevention, cessation, and diversion in Maricopa County schools. The assessment findings will inform strategic planning and guide the effective use of JUUL Settlement funds to support impactful, evidence-based interventions.
