INVITATION TO BID The Town of Independence invites bids for the replacement of pipe, fittings and accessories at it's water plant located at 641 Main Street, Whitesville, New York. Sealed bids labeled "WATER PLANT IMPROVEMENTS" will be received by the Town of Independence, 887 Marietta Avenue, P.O. Box 38 Whitesville, New York 14897 on Thursday October 2, 2025 until 4:00 p.m. at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud. Statement of NonCollusion: Bidders on the contracts are required to execute a noncollusive bidding certificate pursuant to Section 103d of the General Municipal Law of the State of New York. Sales and Use of Tax Exemptions: The Town of Independence is exempt from the payment of sales and compensation use taxes of the State of New York and of cities and counties on all materials, equipment, and supplies sold to the Town pursuant to this contract. Also exempt from such taxes are purchases by the supplier of materials, equipment, and supplies to be sold to the Town pursuant to this contract. These taxes are not to be included in the Bid. All bids shall be binding for a period of sixty (60) days after the bid opening date. The Town of Independence reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities therein.
