NOTICE OF NOVEMBER 4, 2025 MUNICIPAL GENERAL ELECTION GASTON COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA   NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN pursuant to G.S. 163-33(8) that a Municipal General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 for municipal offices in Belmont, Bessemer City, Cherryville, Cramerton, Dallas, Gastonia, High Shoals, Kings Mountain, Lowell, McAdenville, Mount Holly, Ranlo and Stanley in Gaston County, North Carolina   The polls will be open for voting on Election Day from 6:30 am to 7:30 pm. All voters registered with the Gaston County Board of Elections and residing within the municipality are eligible to vote in this election. Voters who are already registered to vote need not re-register. Residents who are not registered to vote or those registered who need to make changes must do so by Friday, October 10, 2025 at 5:00 pm to be eligible to vote on Election Day.   Persons wishing to register and vote after the registration deadline may appear in person at the early voting site, complete the voter registration application form and provide proof of residence by presenting valid documents showing current name and address. Early voting will begin Thursday, October 16, 2025 and continue through Saturday, November 1, 2025. There will be one early voting location for this election at the Gaston County Board of Elections Office at 410 West Franklin Boulevard, Suite 30 in Gastonia.   Any qualified voter may vote an absentee ballot by mail. Absentee ballots will be available starting Friday, October 3, 2025. Absentee ballot applications must be made to the Gaston County Board of Elections using the Absentee Ballot Request form. The deadline for applying for an absentee ballot by mail is 5:00 pm on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. Mailed ballots should be returned to the Board of Elections office on or before Tuesday, November 4, 2025 by 7:30 pm.   The Board of Elections will meet each of the following dates for the purpose of approving absentee ballots: October 7, 2025 (5:00 pm) October 14, 2025 (5:00 pm) October 21, 2025 (5:00 pm) October 28, 2025 (5:00 pm) November 3, 2025 (5:00 pm)   Absentee ballots will be counted on Election Day in the Board of Elections office; results will be released at 7:30 pm when the polls close.   The Sample hand-to-eye count will be held at the Board of Elections Office on Friday, November 7, 2025 at 10:00 am.   The Canvass meeting will be held at the Board of Elections Office on Friday, November 14, 2025 at 11:00 am.   Please contact the Gaston County Board of Elections with any questions concerning voter registration, absentee ballots, location of polling places and other election matters at (704) 852-6005 or by visiting our website at www.gastoncountyelections.com.   C.
