Public Notice Details:
The Town of Palm Beach is submitting an application to the Florida Department of Commerce under the Rebuild Florida 2023 and 2024 Storms Infrastructure Repair Program (IRP). This Notice hereby gives notice to the Public regarding this project aimed at replacing the Mid-Town Seawall which will provide protection and added resilience to approximately 2,700 linear feet of shoreline immediately east of South Ocean Boulevard. Ocean Boulevard serves as the Hurricane Evacuation Route for this section of the Palm Beach Islands. The project is located seaward of the Coastal Construction Control Line (CCCL) and is eligible for coastal armoring in accordance with 62B-33.002(12)(a), Florida Administrative Code (F.A.C.). The Project limits extend from approximately 10 ft north of FDEP Palm Beach County Reference Monument R-97 to approximately 330 ft south of R-99. This critical project is aimed at improving hurricane resiliency and mitigating future flooding and storm impacts.
Proposed Infrastructure Project:
Mid-Town Seawall Replacement – Amount: $23 Million
The Town of Palm Beach has determined an urgent need to complete a seawall replacement project that aims to make improvements to the Town’s coastal resilience and hurricane preparedness infrastructure. This project will achieve restored and enhanced coastal protection in addition to enhanced protection of evacuation routes, while also mitigating risks to vital infrastructure and protecting the community.
Once the project is awarded, the estimated time to completion is 24 months.
