PUBLIC NOTICE - BOND RELEASE  Notice is hereby given that ELK Resources, Inc., 30 Pounds Road, West Lebanon, PA 15783 has requested bond release for Surface Mine Permit #56220101 pursuant to the Surface Mining Conservation and Reclamation Act. The permit was issued March 21, 2023 and is located northwest of the intersection of State Route 1031, Camp Drive and Horn Road. in Paint Township, Somerset County. Bond release of $440,907.00 is requested for 40.5 acres. Total bond held is $734,845.00. The release area has been backfilled and regraded as of March 2025 and is eligible for Stage I bond release. Written comments, objections, and requests for a public hearing or informal conference may be submitted to the Department of Environmental Protection, Cambria Office, Bureau of District Mining Operations, 286 Industrial Park Rd., Ebensburg, PA 15931-4119 within thirty (30) days following the fourth and final publication of this notice.
