NOTICE is hereby given that the TOWN OF MELBOURNE BEACH, Brevard County, Florida, has called for Public Hearing(s) to be held as follows:
Town of Melbourne Beach, Florida, Planning and Zoning Board/Local Planning Agency: October 7, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard in the Community Center, 509 Ocean Ave, Melbourne Beach, Florida 32951.
Town of Melbourne Beach, Florida, Town Commission (Second Reading-Adoption): November 19, 2025 at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard in the Community Center, 509 Ocean Ave, Melbourne Beach, Florida 32951.
The purpose of these public hearing(s) is to consider the following proposed Ordinance:
ORDINANCE NO. 2025-04
AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF MELBOURNE BEACH, FLORIDA, RELATING TO LAND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS AND SIGNAGE; AMENDING SECTION 7A-52, TOWN CODE OF ORDINANCES, RELATING TO PROHIBITED SIGNS AND PROVIDING FOR ADDITIONAL REGULATIONS AS TO TYPE OF SIGNAGE PROHIBITED WITHIN THE TOWN, AMENDING SIGN LOCATION AND DURATION OF SIGNAGE PERMITTED IN THE TOWN; REVISING SIGNAGE STANDARDS; PROVIDING FOR REMOVAL OF SIGNAGE BY THE TOWN; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
The proposed Ordinance(s) may be examined at Town Hall, 507 Ocean Avenue, Melbourne Beach, FL 32951; Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
All persons wishing to be heard should appear in person at these hearings or send written comments to the Town Clerk. All persons and parties are hereby advised that if they should decide to appeal any decision made by the Town with respect to any matter considered at the public meeting or hearing described in this notice, they will need a record of the proceedings, and for such purpose, said person or party may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based (Chapter 286, Florida Statutes). In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), anyone who needs a special accommodation for this meeting should contact the Town Clerk at (321) 724-5860 at least 48 hours in advance of this meeting. The public hearing may be continued to a time and date certain by announcement at this scheduled hearing without any further published notice.
