LEGAL NOTICE   The following are summaries of ordinances and resolutions adopted by Canton City Council on Sept. 8, 2025. Ave. S.W., Canton, Ohio 44702, during non holiday weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Ordinance No. 157/2025 Ordinance No. 157/2025 was reconsidered. Ordinance No. 161/2025 The Mayor or Service Director is authorized to accept the conveyance of Stark County Auditor Parcel Number 215261 from PRE 15632 Euclid, LLC and to enter into any additional contracts or take the necessary steps to acquire said parcel. Adopted as an emergency. Ordinance No. 162/2025 Amending Ord. No. 13/2015 in the area covered by the Tax Increment Financing provisions of Ohio Revised Code Section 5709.41; extending the term from 10 years to 30 years and amending the TIF Cooperative Development Agreement. Adopted as an emergency. Ordinance No. 163/2025 The Mayor, Service or Safety Director is authorized to enter into a Joint Facility Development and Use Agreement with the Canton City School District Board of Education for Dueber Elementary School. Adopted as an emergency. Resolution No. 165/2025 The Mayor or Service Director is authorized to apply for a WPCLF loan for the Schroyer Ave. SW Sanitary Sewer Replacement, GP 1380 Project, sign all documents for and enter into a supplemental WPCLF with the Ohio EPA and the Ohio Water Development Authority for planning, design and/or construction of wastewater facilities on behalf of the city of Canton, Ohio. The dedicated source of repayment will be Sanitary Sewer Enterprise Funds. Adopted as an emergency. Ordinance No. 166/2025 The Mayor or Service Director is authorized to enter into a professional services contract for design and oversight of the 13th St. SW Area Neighborhood Improvement Project, G.P. 1496, the 19th St. NE Area Neighborhood Improvement Project, G.P. 1495 and the Elgin Ave. NW Neighborhood Improvement Project, G.P. 1478. The Auditor is authorized to pay all moral obligations for contract change orders that are otherwise approved by the Board of Control pursuant to Canton Codified Ordinance 105.14 within the established dollar amount thresholds for the foregoing projects. Appropriation Ord. No. 55/2025 is amended by making the supplemental appropriation of $87,500 from the Unappropriated Balance of 5410 Operating Fund and the appropriation transfers of $200,000 from 2175 General Government Support Admin – Other to 2175 13th St. SW Neighborhood Project GP 1496 - Other $100,000 and 2175 19th St. NE Neighborhood Project GP 1495 – Other $100,000.
