LEGAL NOTICE
The following are summaries of ordinances adopted by Canton City Council on Sept. 15, 2025. The complete text of the ordinances may be obtained for 10 cents per page or viewed free at the office of the Clerk of Council in City Hall, 218 Cleve. Ave. S.W., Canton, Ohio 44702, during non holiday weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Ordinance No. 167/2025
The Mayor or Safety Director is authorized to enter into a contract with Flock Safety for a no-cost trial period for the duration of 2025 in accordance with any procurement process authorized by law. Adopted as an emergency.
Ordinance No. 168/2025
The Auditor is authorized to pay moral obligations for PHI Air Medical in an amount not to exceed $183.02. Council retroactively authorizes all actions taken prior to the passage of this ordinance related to the same. Adopted as an emergency.
Ordinance No. 169/2025
The Mayor or Service Director is authorized to enter into an easement agreement with American Electric Power for an electric line at the Cromer Reservoir. Adopted as an emergency.
Ordinance No. 170/2025
The Auditor is authorized to pay all moral obligations necessary related to the 30th St. NE Waterline Replacement Project – Change Order No. 1 – Final.
Appropriation Ord. No. 55/2025 is amended by making the supplemental appropriation of $51,118.33 from the Unappropriated Balance of 5201 Water Fund. Adopted as an emergency.
Ordinance No. 171/2025
Part Five, General Offenses Code, of the city of Canton, is amended to add a new Chapter 540, Prohibited Camping to prohibit camping on public property within the City.
Ordinance No. 172/2025
The Mayor or Service Director is authorized to enter into a contract amendment in an amount not to exceed $16,000 for the 15th St. NW Streetscape GP 1438 Project. Adopted as an emergency.
Ordinance No. 173/2025
The Mayor or Service Director is authorized to enter into a contract amendment in an amount not to exceed $14,000 for the Sherrick Rd. Area Improvements GP 1465 Design Contract. The Auditor is authorized to pay all moral obligations related to this contract amendment. Adopted as an emergency.
