WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP PUBLIC NOTICE
The Washington Township Board of Supervisors at their regular monthly Board meeting held on October 20, 2025, 1:30 P.M. at the Washington Township Municipal Building, 11798 Buchanan Trail E., Waynesboro, (Washington Township), Franklin County, Pennsylvania, intend to amend the Washington Township Code by amending the Zoning ordinance as it relates to restrictions on keeping horses, bees, and poultry. ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING CHAPTER OF THE WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP CODE TO REVISE RESTRICTIONS ON THE KEEPING OF HORSES, BEES, CHICKENS, DUCKS, AND OTHER POULTRY
The first part of the Ordinance sets forth the background and legal authority for enacting the Ordinance.
Section 1 amends § 360-66 by adding subsection (G) for beekeeping, subject to certain requirements, and subsection (H) for small-scale keeping of grazing animals, subject to certain requirements.
Section 2 amends § 360-70 by adding subsection (L) for the keeping of chickens, ducks, and other poultry, subject to certain requirements.
Section 3 amends § 360-71 by adding subsection (G) for beekeeping, subject to certain requirements, and subsection (H) for small-scale keeping of grazing animals, subject to certain requirements..
Section 4 amends § 360-74(M) by excluding the keeping of chicken, ducks, and other poultry from mobile home parks.
Section 5 amends § 360-75 by adding subsection (I) for beekeeping, subject to certain requirements, and subsection (J) for small-scale keeping of grazing animals, subject to certain requirements.
Sections 6, 7, and 8 contain severability, repeal, and effective date provisions.
