The Washington Township Board of Supervisors at their regular monthly Board meeting held on October 20, 2025, 1:30 P.M. at the Washington Township Municipal Building, 11798 Buchanan Trail E., Waynesboro, (Washington Township), Franklin County, Pennsylvania, intend to amend the Washington Township Code by amending the Subdivision and Land Development ordinance as it relates to driveway turnarounds and damage to roadways. ORDINANCE AMENDING THE SUBDIVISION AND LAND DEVELOPMENT CHAPTER OF THE WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP CODE AS IT RELATES TO STREETS AND DRIVEWAY TURNAROUNDS
The first part of the Ordinance sets forth the background and legal authority for enacting the Ordinance.
Section 1 amends the name of §310-26 to “Street Grades and Directional Changes” and adds 310-26(D), adding minimum radius requirements for changes in street directions.
Section 2 amends §310-36(A) of the Washington Township Code , revising the requirements for driveway turnaround areas on lots.
Section 3 amends §310-38(H), requiring repairs and bonding for damage to public streets from development and clarifying the responsibility for repairs between multiple parties.
Sections 4, 5, and 6 contain severability, repeal, and effective date provisions.
