OF A
FINAL ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT
AND
FINDING OF NO SIGNIFICANT IMPACT
FOR
PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS
AT THE
PELLSTON REGIONAL AIRPORT
PELLSTON, MICHIGAN
The Pellston Regional Airport (Airport) has completed final environmental documentation for proposed obstruction removals in the approaches of each of the four runway ends. A summary of the proposed improvements includes:
Phase A - Clearing and/or grubbing and grading of approximately 37 acres of obstructions (trees) on 16 parcels of Airport-owned property or property with existing avigation easements
Phase B - Clearing and/or grubbing and grading of approximately 54 acres of obstructions (trees) on 46 parcels of publicly owned or private property requiring new avigation easements before obstructions are removed.
ALL INTERESTED PERSONS are hereby notified of the availability of a Final Environmental Assessment (EA) and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI). These documents evaluated the potential impacts of the proposed improvements as required by the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969. Approval of the FONSI by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) means that the project can now proceed to final design and construction.
A hardcopy of the Final EA and FONSI is available for review during normal business hours at the Airport and an electronic version is also available anytime online on the Airport's website until November 28th, 2025. Documents can be found at the following locations:
