Project Description:
The Department has prepared a draft permit and has made a tentative determination, subject to public comment or other information, to approve a proposed discharge of 22,000 gallons per day (gpd) of treated sanitary wastewater to an unnamed tributary to Ulster Lake, a class D waterbody from a tertiary treatment plant at the applicant's facility address located at 751 Briggs Highway, Ellenville. This is a reduction in flow from the currently approved 40,000 gpd. The facility is operated under the direction of NYS Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS), and is an institutional facility with 130 residents and 40 employees.

Requests for a legislative (public statement) hearing must be sent in writing to the DEC contact person below by the comment deadline. The Department assesses such requests pursuant to 6 NYCRR Section 621.8. Refer to this application by the application number listed above and SPDES Number NY0150363.
