I. 0015390 ATHENS-CLARKE COUNTY Notice is hereby given in compliance with Georgia Code 22-2-109 and 32-3-5 that the Georgia Department of Transportation has approved the Location and Design of this project. The date of location and design approval is: September 17, 2025 The proposed project is located on the north side of Athens, GA. The project is along Chase Street beginning just north of the bridge over CSX Railroad and continues north for approximately 3,400 linear feet to the intersection of Newton Bridge Road, Dairy Pak Road, and Barber Street. This project is located within Georgia Militia District 216. The proposed project includes construction of sidewalks on the west side of Chase Street, a shared-use path on the east side of Chase Street, and roundabouts at the intersections of Oneta Street, SR10 westbound entrance and exit ramp, and SR10 eastbound entrance and exit ramp. Other work includes lighting, landscaping, signage, and pavement markings. Also proposed is the extension of an existing double barrel culvert crossing over a tributary to the North Oconee River. Athens-Clarke County would be responsible for acquiring property rights for this project.
