Notice is hereby given that the following Ordinances were adopted by the Common Council on October 1, 2025 and approved by the Mayor on the 1st day of October 2025.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE XIV. OF CHAPTER 23 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF APPLETON RELATING TO SIGNS.

The Common Council of the City of Appleton does ordain as follows:
On October 1, 2025, the Appleton Common Council amended several portions of City of Appleton Municipal Code Article XIV, Chapter 23 relating to the regulation of signs. These amendments are intended to update and clarify the regulation of signs within the City. The changes include but are not limited to: expanding the Article's purpose section, the addition, deletion or amendment to several definitions, updates to prohibited signs, signs not requiring a permit (banners and wave banners, building marker sign, construction signs, driveway/directional signs, directory signs, historic marker signs, home occupation signs, projection sign, public institutional identity signs, neighborhood and subdivision identification signs, real estate signs, yard signs, window signs, vehicle signs), design standards (number of signs, sign face calculation, ground sign height, setback and clearance, awning and marquee signs, sign lighting, design standard exceptions, murals), administrative procedures and signs allowed by zoning districts.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE III. OF CHAPTER 23 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF APPLETON RELATING TO SECTION 23-54 TEMPORARY USES AND STRUCTURES.

The Common Council of the City of Appleton does ordain as follows:
On October 1, 2025, the Appleton Common Council amended several portions of City of Appleton Municipal Code Article III, Chapter 23, Sec. 23-54 relating to the regulation of temporary uses and structures. These amendments are intended to update and clarify the regulation of temporary uses and structures within the City. The changes include but are not limited to: amending the purpose, parking space requirements, temporary uses (outdoor sale of agriculture products, outdoor Christmas tree sales lot (including incidental sale of Christmas related items), outdoor fireworks sales, rummage sales, outdoor temporary merchandise sales, outdoor farmers market, temporary model home office, portable storage units, temporary structures other than tents, canopies, temporary contractor's offices or portable storage units and the table of permitted temporary uses and structures by zoning district.
