Howell Township Board of Education   Public Notice of Intent to Amend and/or Alter Superintendent’s Contract   Notice of Public Hearing   WHEREAS, the State of New Jersey has enacted P.L. 2007, c.53, An Act Concerning School District Accountability (“Act”); and   WHEREAS, Section 5 of the Act amended N.J.S.A. 18A:11-11 to require boards of education to provide public notice 30 days prior to the renegotiation, extension, amendment, or alteration of an employment contract with the superintendent of schools, assistant superintendent of schools, or school business administrator; and   WHEREAS, the Howell Township Board of Education intends to take action to amend and/or alter the contract terms and conditions of the Superintendent of Schools; and WHEREAS, the Act also requires at least 10 days notice of the public hearing on the renegotiation, extension, amendment or alteration of the employment contract with the superintendent of schools, assistant superintendent of schools, or school business administrator; and   NOW, THEREFORE, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, in accordance with the Act, the Howell Township Board of Education will hold a public hearing on the employment contract of the Superintendent of Schools on November 12, 2025 at 7:00 pm during its regularly scheduled Board of Education meeting to be held at Howell Township Administrative Building, 4567 Route 9 North, Howell, New Jersey and, it is the intent of the Board of Education to take formal action on said employment contract at this meeting.   Members of the public are invited to submit public comments regarding the proposed amendment and/or alteration of the Superintendent’s employment agreement. The Board, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 10:4-12(b), the Open Public Meeting Act, shall not publicly discuss personnel matters and shall not respond to comments made by members of the public. Please be aware that the subject of this hearing retains the right of privacy and shall retain all rights regarding defamation and slander according to the law of New Jersey.
