CITY OF TWO RIVERS
ORDINANCE 25-197
An Ordinance to Amend Chapter 6-5 of the Municipal Code of the City of Two Rivers, Wisconsin, regulating the Licensing of Dogs and Regulation of Animals, based on the recommendation of the City Manager and Police Chief.
Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Two Rivers, Manitowoc County, Wisconsin, adopted Ordinance No. 25-197 on October 6, 2025.
This ordinance amends Chapter 6-5 of the Municipal Code regarding the licensing of dogs and regulation of animals. Key provisions include:
• Establishment of late fees for failure to license dogs by April 1 or within 30 days of obtaining a dog.
• Imposition of a $250 forfeiture per day for failure to comply with animal control requirements.
• Creation of new regulations concerning animal waste, requiring immediate removal and sanitary disposal and prohibiting accumulation of animal byproducts.
• Authorization for limited slaughtering and processing of livestock and game animals within certain zoning districts under specified performance standards to ensure humane, sanitary, and non-disruptive practices.
• Clarification of penalties for violations, referencing the City's general penalty provisions.
