TOWN OF NORTHBRIDGE BOARD OF HEALTH 1679 Providence Road Northbridge, MA 01534 Phone# (508)234-3272   PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE MAJOR MODIFICATION OF SITE ASSIGNMENT   Pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 111, sec-tion 150A and Chapter 30A, section 11, notice is hereby given that the Board of Health of the Town of Northbridge shall convene a Hearing on November 3, 2025 at 6:00 PM, and/or on such other dates as may be established by the Board of Health pursuant to further public notice to consider whether the Board of Health should modify an existing site assignment, granted in 1997, and modified in 2017 and 2021, at a solid waste handling facility, known as the Tom Berkowitz Trucking Solid Waste Transfer Station, located at 279-291 Douglas Road, Whitinsville, MA. The hearing will be held at the Northbridge Fire Station – Training Room, 1681 Providence Road, Northbridge, MA. TJJ Development Corporation has requested a site assignment major modification to increase the site assigned area from .23 acres to 5.07 acres. The applicant further requests to construct a loadout bay and improvements to on-site stormwater collection. There is no proposed increase in the allowable daily or maximum annual tonnage to be accepted at the facility. The application is available for review at the Northbridge Municipal Offices - Board of Health, located at 1679 Providence Road, Northbridge, MA or at: www.northbridgemass.org/board-of-health. The Department of Environmental Protection has issued a Report in which it determines that the above described place is a suitable place for the proposed facility. Copies of the Department’s Report on Suitability and the site suitability criteria (310 CMR 16.00) are available for copying and examination along with the application. This Hearing will be convened pursuant to the requirements of G.L. c. 111, section 150A and the regulations promulgated thereunder. TJJ Development Corporation’s application for a major site assignment modification shall be evaluated by the Board of Health in accordance with 310 CMR 16.00 et seq., and other applicable laws and regulations. Written comments may be submitted to the Board of Health, Northbridge Municipal Offices, 1679 Providence Road, Northbridge, MA 01534 no later than 11:00 AM on October 31, 2025.
