NOTICE OF ELECTION ON TAX LEVY IN EXCESS OF THE TEN MILL LIMITATION ROOTSTOWN TOWNSHIP Notice is hereby given that pursuant to Resolutions passed on March 25, 2025 and July 22, 2025 by the Rootstown Township Trustees, Portage County, Ohio, there will be submitted to a vote of the electors of Rootstown Township at a General Election to be held in said Township at the regular places of voting therein, on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, the question of a replacement of a tax levy for fire and emergency medical services. Tax being a replacement of a 2.85 mills tax levy that the county auditor estimates will collect $976,572 annually, at a rate not exceeding 2.85 mills for each $1 of taxable value, which amounts to $100 for each $100,000 of the county auditor’s appraised value, for 5 years, commencing in 2026, first due in calendar year 2027.
