NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING   Pursuant to Section 15.2-2119 Code of Virginia, a public hearing will be held by the City of Hopewell City Council on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at 7:00 p.m., in the City Council Chambers, Municipal Building, 300 North Main Street, Hopewell, Virginia to receive public comments regarding the following items for the purpose of increasing water and sewer rates, effective August 1, 2024. For residential, Municipal and Commercial rates, sewer rates will each increase from $13.14 to $18.40 for a minimum usage bill, which includes 2,200 gallons a month. This is an increase of $5.26, or 40%. Volumetric rates for sewer usage above the minimum allowance will also increase by 40%. For Small Industrial, Prince George, Federal Corrections and Fort Lee, sewer rates will each increase by 40% for a minimum usage bill. Citizens are encouraged to attend this public hearing to express their views. Note: Any special needs individuals or hearing-impaired individuals who need an interpreter must notify the town office at least seven (7) days prior to the public hearing.
