LEGAL NOTICE   City of Louisville Notice is hereby given that in pursuance of a Resolution of the City Council of the City of Louisville, Stark County, Ohio, passed on the 4th day of August, 2025, there will be submitted to a vote of the people at the General Election to be held at the regular places of voting on the 4th day of November, 2025, the following: “Amending Article II, Section 16, to clarify that the Charter allows for all publication and advertising to be conducted by posting the information on the City’s Website or through other means as determined by Ordinance. Further Amending Article II, Section 16 to clarify that after a first reading, a copy of the Ordinance shall be available for public inspection on the City’s website and within City Hall, but allowing two (2) business days for such posting and deferring to Ordinance for the specific location where the physical copy is to be posted. Amending Article II, Section 17 to remove language relating to newspaper publication that is inconsistent with the revised Section 16. Eliminating Article II, Section 20 which pertained to exceptions to newspaper publication and is no longer necessary. Amending Article III, Section 1, to eliminate the City Manager residency requirement consistent with the Ohio Supreme Court determination that employee residency requirements are not permitted. Amending Article III, Section 2(5) to accurately reflect the Department Head title of Public Works Director. Amending Article III, Section 2(6) to increase the monetary threshold from $25,000 to $50,000 for contracts that do not require Council approval. Amending Article VI, Section 6, to eliminate the limitation that Council can only transfer unencumbered funds during the last three months of the year. Shall the proposed charter amendment, as proposed by the charter commission of the City of Louisville be adopted?” The polls for the election will be open at 6:30 a.m. and remain open until 7:30 p.m. Canton time, on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.
