NOTICE TO BIDDERS

WESTERLY TRUNK SEWER RELOCATION
ENGINEER’S ESTIMATE: $ 1,070,224.50
The approximate quantities and type of work for this project for which proposals will be accepted consist of installing 1,194 feet of 20” Hobas FRP sanitary sewer (260 feet through a 36” steel casing bored and jacked), 12 feet of 18” RCP sanitary sewer, 4 feet of 8” PVC sanitary sewer, removing two existing manholes, installing seven new manholes, pavement repairs, tree clearing and maintenance of traffic. Due to the importance of not interrupting critical sanitary sewer routes, the use of temporary bypass pumping will be required. Flow diversion using tankers or vactor trucks may be employed.
The City of Aurora will only receive Bids through the Bid Express website at https://www.bidexpress.com. All bid forms, contract documents, and plans are available through the Bid Express website. A fee of $50 will be incurred to bid electronically on a pay-per-solicitation basis; alternatively, vendors may subscribe for $60 per month to have access to all solicitations and email notifications.
Each bid must be accompanied by a certified or cashier’s check, an irrevocable letter of credit in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the amount bid, or digital or paper bid bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the amount bid, signed by a Surety Company authorized to transact business in the State of Ohio. Such check or bid bond shall be made payable to the City of Aurora, Ohio and will be held as a guarantee that in the event the bid is accepted, and a contract awarded to the bidder, the Contract will be duly executed and its performance properly secured. If not providing a digital bid bond, wet-ink original bid bonds, checks, or letters of credit must be delivered to the Office of the Director of Public Service, Aurora Service Department, 158 W. Pioneer Trail, Aurora, Ohio, by the bid opening date and time.
If any person contemplating submitting a BID for the proposed PROGRAM/PROJECT is in doubt as to the meaning of any part of the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, they may submit through Bid Express a written request for interpretation thereof.

In the case of disruption of national communications or loss of services by Bid Express within two hours prior to the deadline for submission of bids, the city will delay the deadline for bid submissions to ensure the ability of potential bidders to submit bids. If this occurs, instructions will be communicated to potential bidders.
