NOTICE Pursuant to Article 17-A of the General Municipal Law, the Town Board of the Town of Kirkwood, Broome County, New York adopted a resolution on October 7, 2025 endorsing a consolidation agreement (the “Agreement”) relating to the consolidation of certain sewer districts in the Town. The Agreement is by and among the Town Board of the Town in its several capacities as the governing board of Sewer District No. 1, Extension 1 of Sewer District No. 1, Extension 2 of Sewer District No. 1, Extension 3 of Sewer District No. 1, Extension 4 of Sewer District No. 1 and Sewer District Nos. 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 (the “Sewer Districts”). Such Agreement is dated October 7, 2025 and provides for the consolidation of such Sewer Districts into a single district which would provide sewer service to the aggregate area currently served by the Sewer Districts. Based upon analysis undertaken by the Town it is anticipated that the proposed consolidation will reduce administrative burdens by eliminating duplicative efforts for the existing Sewer Districts and consolidating such effort into a single consolidated Sewer District. The new consolidated district shall be known as the “Consolidated Sewer District”. A summary of the debts, obligations, property and assets of each Sewer District, the proposed allocation of the foregoing, the new territorial boundaries of the consolidated district and the anticipated savings of the consolidation are set forth in the Agreement. A complete copy of the Consolidation Agreement summarized above, together with the map, plan and report prepared by the Town Engineer for such consolidation, shall be available for public inspection during normal business hours at the office of the Town Clerk, Joseph A.
