On October 11, 2025, the Door County Advocate published a public notice from the Department of Natural Resources for a hearing for the proposed issuance of a Wisconsin Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit for Gilbert Farms, to be held at the Door County Gala at 1023 Egg Harbor Rd, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235 at 10:00am. This notice was originally scheduled to be published on October 4, 2025, but a printing error caused this notice to be published by the Door County Advocate one week delayed. Pursuant to s. NR 203.06(2)(L), Wis. Adm. Code, the Department is hereby providing disclosure that less than 30 days of notice was provided for the hearing on this permit and that this shortened timeline was necessary because the hearing date and location had already been published on the Department's website and multiple other media outlets with the full 30 days of notice, so rescheduling the hearing to a later date would result in confusion amongst attendees.
