Regular Meeting
October 7, 2025
The meeting was called to order by President Schneider at 6:30 p.m.
Public notice of the meeting has been given in accordance with Wisconsin's Open Meetings Law contained in the Wisconsin Statutes, Subchapter V of Chapter 19.

The Board welcomed and recognized Ashlie Schaffner as the newly appointed member of the Hamilton Board of Education to fill the Village of Sussex representative seat vacancy.
Motion by Ziemer, seconded by Van Aacken, resolved to approve the September 15, 2025, Regular Meeting minutes and the September 16, 2025, Special Meeting minutes, as presented. Voice vote. Motion carried.
There were no citizens interested in addressing the Board of Education.
Motion by Ziemer, seconded by Van Aacken, resolved to approve the agenda as presented. Voice vote. Motion carried.
In honor of 2025 Wisconsin School Board Week, Dr. Mielke presented each Board member with a card signed by the District administrators. He also shared a graphic created by the Public Information Office which were posted on social media as a "thank you" to the Board of Education for their work on behalf of the students, families, and staff in the Hamilton School District.
Dr. Mielke shared that preliminary state report cards were released, and results are embargoed until November.
Dr. Mielke highlighted the Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies that were held for Lannon Elementary and Hamilton High School construction projects that were made possible through community support of a facilities referendum that was approved in April 2024.
The next Board of Education meeting will be held on October 20, 2025.
Motion by Ziemer, seconded by Lodzinski, resolved to approve the resignations of: Audrey Gauthier: Educational Support – Math Interventionist at Lannon Elementary School. Effective October 8, 2025; Mary Weber: Educational Support – Clerical/Health Room at Lannon Elementary School. Effective October 15, 2025, as presented. Voice vote. Motion carried.
Motion by Ziemer, seconded by Lodzinski, resolved to approve the appointments of: Marisa Konrath: Custodian I, p.m. PT at Maple Avenue Elementary School. Effective September 20, 2025; Nancy Szijarto: Associate Kitchen Employee at Hamilton High School. Effective September 23, 2025; Paul Schmidt: Educational Support Instructional at Templeton Middle School. Effective September 29, 2025; Audrey Gauthier: Administrative Assistant at Lannon Elementary School. Effective October 9, 2025, as presented. Voice vote. Motion carried.
Motion by Ziemer, seconded by Lodzinski, resolved to approve the 2026-27 Calendar Planning Parameters, as presented. Voice vote. Motion carried.
Motion by Ziemer, seconded by Van Aacken, resolved to approve the 2025 Summer School Report and 2026 Summer School Dates, as presented. Voice vote. Motion carried.
Motion by Van Aacken, seconded by Ziemer, resolved to approve the Elementary and Willow Springs Learning Center School Site Plan, as presented. Voice vote. Motion carried.
Motion by Van Aacken, seconded by Ziemer, resolved to approve the Silver Spring Intermediate School Site Plan, as presented. Voice vote. Motion carried.
Motion by Ziemer, seconded by Van Aacken, resolved to approve the English Learners Initiatives Report and Policy Handbook, as presented. Voice vote. Motion carried.
Mr. Schneider facilitated discussion regarding the evaluation of internal board operations. This was an informational item, and no action was necessary.
