TOWN OF WELLINGTON, COLORADO
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
FOR ORDINANCE ADOPTING
BUILDING CODES BY REFERENCE
Notice is hereby given that the Town of Wellington Board of Trustees will hold a public hearing at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday November 12, 2025 at the Wilson Leeper Center, 3800 Wilson Ave., Wellington, Colorado 80549. The purpose of the hearing is to solicit public comment on the adoption of the following building codes by reference, with amendments, to provide minimum standards to safeguard life or limb, health, property and public welfare for construction, alteration, moving, demolition, repair, maintenance and use of any building or structure within the Town of Wellington: The INTERNATIONAL BUILDING CODE, 2024 Edition; the INTERNATIONAL RESIDENTIAL CODE, 2024 Edition; the INTERNATIONAL FUEL GAS CODE, 2024 Edition; the INTERNATIONAL PLUMBING CODE, 2024 Edition; the INTERNATIONAL MECHANICAL CODE, 2024 Edition; the INTERNATIONAL EXISTING BUILDING CODE 2024 Edition; the INTERNATIONAL PROPERTY MAINTENANCE CODE, 2024 Edition; the INTERNATIONAL ENERGY CONSERVATION CODE, 2024 Edition; the INTERNATIONAL SWIMMING POOL AND SPA CODE, 2024 Edition; and the INTERNATIONAL FIRE CODE, 2024 Edition, said codes promulgated by the International Code Council, Inc, 4051 West Flossmoor Road, Country Club Hills, Illinois 60478-5795. The purpose of the hearing is also to solicit public comment on the adoption of the COLORADO MODEL ELECTRIC READY AND SOLAR READY CODE by reference, promulgated by the Colorado Department of Local Affairs, and Colorado Energy Office pursuant to HB22-1362, CRS 24-38.5-401(5). The purpose of the hearing is also to solicit public comment on the adoption of the 2025 COLORADO WILDFIRE RESILIENCY CODE VERSION 1.0 and the 2025 COLORADO WILDFIRE RESILIENCY STATE CODE MAP by reference, promulgated by the Colorado Department of Public Safety and Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control, pursuant to SB23-166, CRS 25-33-.5-1236.
Copies of the codes being considered for adoption and the adopting ordinance are on file with the Town Building Department and may be inspected during regular business hours. Interested and affected parties are encouraged to attend. Following the public hearing, the Board of Trustees will consider passage of the adopting ordinance on final reading.
