NOTICE TO BIDDERS
 
BARNEGAT LIGHT
LIVERY LEASES
 
  NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that bids will be received by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Barnegat Light in the Borough Hall, 10 East 7th Street, Barnegat Light, New Jersey, on November 12, 2020 at 5:00pm by auction method, for the leasing of the following parcels of land (liveries) for the following minimum bids:
 
Barnegat Light Block 16.01, Lot 3, commonly known as Commercial Boat Livery Parcel No. 1:
   Minimum Bid for base year: $30,000 per year for 2026
                  Plus 2.5% increase each year in the
                  second, third, fourth and fifth years of the lease
 
Barnegat Light Block 16.01, Lot 4, commonly known as Commercial Boat Livery Parcel No. 3:
   Minimum Bid for base year: $29,500 per year for 2026
                  Plus 2.5% increase each year in the
                  second, third, fourth and fifth years of the lease
 
1. The Borough reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
 
2. The bidding will consist of individual offers at specified prices, for the first year’s rent, and the rent shall increase by 2.5% each year in the second, third, fourth and fifth years of the lease (rounded to the nearest five dollars). There will be no limit to the number of offers to be received, but they must be in the minimum of $100.00 increase over the prior bid. The highest bidder will deliver a certified check, money order, cashier's check or cash for the minimum amount of 20% of the first year’s rent at the time of the bidding.
 
3. The successful bidder shall enter into a livery lease contract for said property from the Borough on the date that the bid is received. The terms and conditions for the rental of said property are set forth in a Livery Lease Agreement on file with the Borough Clerk, which is available for public inspection during normal business hours.
 
4. To the extent that the subject property may be subject to real estate property taxes, then the successful bidder shall be responsible for the payment of taxes on the subject property.
 
5. In the event that the bidder is a corporation or partnership, it shall submit to the governing body, prior to the time of the receipt of bids, or accompanying the bid, a statement setting forth the names and addresses of all stockholders in the corporation who own 10% or more of its stock, or an interest equivalent for the same, as per P.L. 1977, C. 33.
 
6. ALL BIDDERS ARE URGED TO REVIEW THE LIVERY LEASE AGREEMENTS PRIOR TO BIDDING. BIDDERS ARE PRESUMED TO HAVE READ, UNDERSTOOD AND ACCEPTED ALL TERMS OF THE LIVERY LEASE AGREEMENT.
