PLANNING BOARD OF THE
TOWNSHIP OF MOUNT OLIVE, MORRIS COUNTY
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that the Planning Board (the “Board”) of the Township of Mount Olive, County of Morris, State of New Jersey, will hold a public hearing on November 20, 2025 at 7:00 P.M. at the Mount Olive Municipal Building, located at 204 Flanders-Drakestown Road, Flanders, New Jersey, to conduct a Preliminary Investigation and review reports for an Area in Need of Redevelopment determination concerning property of approximately 57.49 acres and located in the northern portion of the Township bounded between Interstate Route 80 and Continental Drive and adjacent to Allamuchy State Park and commercially developed lands to the east, said property being designated on the Tax Map of the Township of Mount Olive as Block 301, Lot 4 and commonly known as 3100 Continental Drive (hereinafter referred to as the “Study Area”). The purpose of the public hearing is to determine whether the Study Area identified above should be designated by the Township Council as a Non-Condemnation Area in Need of Redevelopment pursuant to the New Jersey Local Redevelopment and Housing Law, N.J.S.A. 40A:12A -5 and -6. The Study Area, which totals approximately 57.49 acres, is currently undeveloped. Should the Board determine the Study Area to be a Non-Condemnation Area in Need of Redevelopment and the Township Council then designates the Study Area as a Non-Condemnation Area in Need of Redevelopment, that determination shall not authorize the municipality to exercise the power of eminent domain to acquire any Property in the delineated study area.
Interested parties or those that may be affected by designation of the Property as a Non-Condemnation Area in Need of Redevelopment may appear, either in person or by attorney, and present any comments, evidence or questions they may have regarding the preliminary investigation report and this matter. The hearing may be continued without further notice on such additional or other dates as the Board may determine at the time of the initial hearing but may also take action in the form of a determination to be recommended to the Township Council. The preliminary investigation report, including a map of the Property and statement setting forth the basis for the investigation along with other supporting materials will be available for public inspection during normal business hours at the Mount Olive Municipal Building, located at 204 Flanders-Drakestown Road, Budd Lake, New Jersey 07836 .
