Notice is hereby given of intent to apply to the 2026 Session of the Florida Legislature for passage of an act relating to the Manatee County Port Authority; codifying, reenacting, amending, and repealing prior special acts relating to the Manatee County Port Authority; providing a new comprehensive charter; providing for reformation as an independent special district pursuant to section 189.429, Florida Statutes; providing for a governing board; providing for the operation, powers, functions, and duties of the Port Authority; authorizing the issuance of bonds; providing procedures for the transfer of assets, liabilities, and employees; authorizing the creation of a direct-support organization; providing for liberal construction and severability; and providing an effective date.
