Plaintiff's request for authorization to serve Plaintiff's Summons and Complaint for Divorce upon Defendant by publication is hereby GRANTED. Within twenty (20) days of the date of this Order, Plaintiff shall file a notice of filing of the complaint in the Record, a newspaper circulated in Bergen County. 2. That Proof of service of the Notice as set forth above shall be filed with the Court within fourteen (14) days of the date of said affidavit is received from the newspaper. 3. That within thirty-five (35) days of the date of the filing of the affidavit of publication with the Court, the Defendant shall serve upon Plaintiff whose name appears above, either. 1. A written appearance in accordance with R.5:4-3(a), or 2. An answer to the Complaint on or before the 15th day of December, 2025, and that if Defendant fails to answer or file a written appearance in accordance with R.5:4-3(a), judgment by default may be rendered against the Defendant for the relief demanded in the Complaint, and it is FURTHER ORDERED: 4. That if Defendant is unable to obtain an attorney, that the Defendant may contact the Lawyer Referral Service of Bergen County by calling (201) 488-0044 and if the Defendant cannot afford an attorney, the Defendant may contact Northeast New Jersey Legal Services by calling (973) 523-2900. That the Defendant shall promptly file the answer or written appearance and proof of service therefore in duplicate with the Clerk of the Superior Court, Bergen County Family Division at 10 Main Street, Hackensack, NJ 07601 in accordance with the Court rules. FURTHER ORDERED: 5. That Plaintiff shall be entitled to proceed with this lawsuit upon obtaining a proof of publication. 6. If the Defendant fails to move or otherwise plead within 35 days of the publication date, the Plaintiff shall be entitled to enter default. 7. ORDERED that Plaintff's request that special substituted service upon friends and relatives be dispensed with in this action is hereby GRANTED.
