Lincoln Ave., West Allis, WI 53227 (District Administration Office) Regular Board of Education Meeting October 27, 2025 (Condensed Version) President Burns called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. on October 27, 2025, at 1300 S. 109th Street, West Allis. Roll was called with the following members present: Joe Becker, Brendan Burns, Jane Carr, Amy Deal, Brian Keller, Kristen Keyser, Rebecca Lee (excused), Noah Leigh, and John Verbos. Motion by Mr. Keller to approve Consent Agenda items 10.1, 10.2, 10.3 and 10.4, seconded by Ms. Deal. (10.1) The minutes of the October 13, 2025, Regular Board meeting. (10.2) Appointments: Schaefer, Nikayla, EA, Franklin, New, EA, 10/28/2025; Stephens, Jylahna, EA (SPED -IS), Hoover, New, EA, 10/13/2025. Resignations/Retirements: Espinoza, Patricia, EA (SPED), Wilson, Resignation, 10/30/2025; Lowetz, Laurie, Teacher (SPED -CC), Wilson, Resignation, 10/13/2025. (10.3) Supplementary contracts as listed on the October 27, 2025, report. (10.4) Approval of the Financial Report Summary for the Month of September 2025 including Receipts #7724 through #7770 in the amount of $12,464,768.02 and Vouchers Payable #377968 through #378500, wire transfers, and payroll disbursements in the amount of $7,757,221.54 and Statement of Revenue and Expenditures for three Months Ending September 30, 2025. Motion carried unanimously to approve Consent Agenda items 10.1, 10.2, 10.3 and 10.4. Motion by Ms. Deal to adopt the 2025-26 Final Budget and Tax Levy, seconded by Mr. Leigh as follows: Approve a resolution to adopt the 2025-2026 All-Fund Revenue Budget in the amount of $164,825,846 and the All-Fund Expenditure Budget in the amount of $185,903,798 and to approve a resolution to adopt the 2025-2026 tax levy in the amount of $57,170,587. Resolution #1: "BE IT RESOLVED that the School District of West Allis-West Milwaukee, et al. School Board adopts the 2025-2026 Final Budget in the Department of Public Instruction format as presented in the Final Budget Document." Resolution #2: "BE IT RESOLVED by the School Board of the School District of West Allis-West Milwaukee, et al. as follows: Section I. There is hereby levied a school tax of $57,170,587 upon all taxable property of said School District for the uses and purposes of said School District as set forth in the 2025-2026 budget as follows: General Fund $48,543,087, Debt Service $1,702,500, Referendum Debt Service $3,100,000, Community Services $3,825,000. Section II. The School Board Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to deliver to the Clerk of each municipality having territory within the School District of West Allis-West Milwaukee, et al., a tax levy certification showing that proportion of the amount of school taxes to be assessed against the taxable property of that portion of the School District lying within each such municipality, as required by Section 120.17(8), of Wisconsin Statutes. Such proportion shall be determined from the full value certified to the School District Clerk under Section 121.06(2), of Wisconsin Statutes." Motion carried unanimously.
