2025 TAX SALE
PUBLIC NOTICE of sale of lands for unpaid taxes and special assessments and water rentals will be made to the City of Canandaigua on December 19, 2025 at 4 P.M. E.S.T.

WHEREAS, arrears of taxes, special assessments and water rentals for the year 2025, charged and imposed, pursuant to law, remain due and unpaid on the several tracts, lots, pieces or parcels of land; and
WHEREAS, a list of the names of the owner or occupants as the same appear on said assessment rolls for the said year or years, and the amounts include such unpaid taxes, special assessments, water rentals, penalties, interest, expenses and other charges against the respective properties for such year or years can be found on the City of Canandaigua’s website at: canandaiguanewyork.gov.
NOW THEREFORE, NOTICE is hereby given that in pursuance of the power vested in me by law I shall on Friday the 19th of December at four o'clock in the afternoon declare the liens for aforementioned tracts, lots, pieces or parcels of land sold to the City of Canandaigua (City) for the aggregate amount stated in the aforementioned list as shall be sufficient to pay all State, County, City Special Assessments, Water Rentals, or other taxes assessed thereon, or which are a lien thereon, in the years as above indicated, that may then remain due and unpaid on each thereof, respectively, together with interest penalties and charges which have arisen or accrued or that may arise or accrue thereon. The City shall receive certificates describing the parcel purchased by a brief general description and location of the same, the sum paid therefore, the amount due thereon, the time of the sale, the name of the person against whom said tax was assessed and the name of the reputed owner thereof, and that after the expiration of twelve months from the last day of such sale, they shall be entitled to foreclose upon the lands purchased by them unless the owner or occupants thereof, or some other person interested therein, pursuant to law, shall have previously redeemed the same by paying to the said Treasurer for the use of the purchaser, his heirs or assigns, the sum mentioned in the certificate, with interest thereon at the rate of one per centum per month from the day of sale, together with any tax, special assessment, or water rentals which the City shall have paid on said lands between the days of sale and the date of such redemption, with interest at the rate of one per centum per month upon such tax, special assessment, or water rentals from time of such payment, together with the share of the expenses of publication of notices and filing fees to redeem the real estate sold for unpaid taxes as apportioned by said Treasurer to the real estate so redeemed. Payment must be made in the form of cash, certified check, bank draft or money order.
