PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
Notice is hereby given that the City of Hendersonville City Council will hold six public hearings on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at 5:45 p.m., or as soon thereafter as possible in the City Operations Assembly Room located at 305 Williams Street, Hendersonville NC to consider the following:
I. Zoning Map Amendment – Standard Rezoning – Locust Street Area Rezoning (25-58-RZO) – City-initiated application for a standard rezoning to rezone a vacant lot on Lynn Street/ Ninth Avenue (PIN 9569-80-4629), from I-1, Industrial to CMU, Central Mixed Use.
II. Zoning Text Amendment – C-4 Upzoning Update (25-76-ZTA) – City-initiated text amendment to update Section 5-9 in response to the state 'downzoning' law.
III. Zoning Text Amendment – Wait Elimination (25-80-ZTA) – City initiated text amendment to update Section 11-2 and 11-5-3 for elimination of the application wait time and align with state law.
IV. Landmark Nomination – Ewbank/Whitmire House (25-03-LL) - Owner initiated application for a Local Landmark designation for the approval to make 201 Ewbank Drive/Ewbank-Whitmire House a local landmark.
V. Landmark Nomination - The Waverly Inn (25-04-LL) – Owner initiated application for a Local Landmark designation for the approval to make 783 N. Main Street/The Waverly Inn a local landmark.
VI. Landmark Nomination – McKeithan-Rogers House (25-05-LL) – Owner initiated application for a Local Landmark designation for the approval to make 908 5th Avenue West/McKeithan-Rogers House/Elizabeth Leigh Inn a local landmark.
Digital/written public hearing comments must be received twenty-four hours prior to the meeting (by 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3rd 2025) to be considered by the City Council and must comply with security criteria in the Council’s Public Comment Policy, available on the City’s website.
Public hearing comments will also be accepted during the meeting from those attending in person and from those participating live via ZOOM at the designated time at this meeting. For security reasons screen sharing will not be allowed. Anyone wishing to submit written/digital public hearing comments for these public hearings prior to the meeting may visit https://www.hendersonvillenc.gov/comment to submit their comment. It is not necessary to submit digital comments if you are planning to address City Council during the meeting.
